The inventor of this innovative digital swimming pool timer wanted a logo that would emphasize its energy-efficiency, money savings and ease of use. The logo also needed to be uncomplicated so as to be easily molded onto the product itself. The solution was a typographic mark using a strong italic typeface with subtle wave-like details to suggest innovation, ease and the motion of water. The second ‘t’ in the word ‘Watt’ is turned upside down suggesting cyclical motion as a representation of the continuous flow of water filtration, and also intended as a throwback to the classic recycle logo. The negative space between the two t’s subtly implies a dollar sign. The blue and green colors were chosen to represent water, money savings and energy conservation.
